Because Your Opinion MATTERS. (overly dramatic voice.)

Ceiling Moulding.

CEILING MOULDING.

I like it.

I love it.

I want some more of it.

"Twoo wuv. . . "

Here's the thing:

no, there is too much.  Let me sum up:

Ceiling moulding.  I love it.  More is more.  It's the "5th wall".  Yes yes and yes.  Double check, yes.  In any form, yes.

The Daddy-o, to my everlasting surpreese, thinks that you have to be very careful with the ceiling, or it cheapens the whole room.

He says most ceiling mouldings remind him of a casino (a.k.a., cheap).

I'm not sure I know who you are anymore, Dad.

Now I feel lost-- confused-- I'm second guessing everything. I already have materials in my garage for this, and I'm hemming and hawwing and scratching my head.

Give me your thoughts so I can get all up on this.

You just have to be careful that the design doesn't look like fluorescent lights are supposed to be in the boxes. So go bold, or leave it be. The reason that I leave my ceilings alone is because working on the ceiling is really uncomfortable, especially if you have to paint or cut-in things. Working on the ceiling always gives me a greater appreciation for what went into the Sistine Chapel.

I also love the ceilings. Just make sure you LOVe the design before attaching it. It will look amazing, I'm sure. You have a great eye for that stuff.

I have a picture really close to your 4th pic pinned to my master bedroom pin boasts. And I love it so so much! How is it that you know what I want and then post it every time lol

Liked number 2, LOVED number 4, and liked number 5. I don't think ALL ceiling designs look like casinos - just some.

You have such good taste in moulding I can't think that you'd make a mistake!! I don't go to casinos, but I've seen quite a few nice hotels and they have those ceilings....sooooo if you were to, say, do-up your ceiling I'd be all, wow, fancy hotel style!! And then, I'd be all impressed!! :)

I think less is more when it comes to ceilings - I prefer #3!

I'm with Gina, I do like #3 in the right style room. But not much of a fan of the rest of them. Too much of good thing is well, too much. However I do like when the moulding continues onto the edges of the ceilings, just not in the middle area -- and like Sherron said, I think of the work involved. But knowing you, next time you'd take it all down and do something different anyway!! :) Once again, I sit on a fence on all decision making...you just do whatever paddles your canoe hunny...

Mawwage is what brings us togevevah.

Do it. Then make a crafty wall decoration using cards & poker chips for the daddy-o. ;-) H.

Ceiling molding reminds me of old, dirty drop-ceilings with acoustic tiles. I guess if you have to add molding up there, I would suggest that you do do regular rectangles or boxes. The hexagons are very nice and different, and the simple outlined molding is also nice and understated.

FYI, you spell molding like a British person :op

That should have said "do NOT do" for the rectangles, sorry.

We've discussed this before....more is more! I'm disappointed that I have to cut off the daddy-o now, he had such potential!

I think you can overdo ceiling molding. I really like number 3 but the rest are just too much. You want the ceiling to look good but not dominate the room.

I love that first one with all the curves.

i LOVE #4! i think with coffered ceilings, deep and purposeful is the way to go. i do not particularly like #5 - i think it looks like a cheap-ish home kit. can't wait to see what you pick! :)

Love it. Out here in NC it's in all the high end houses! I think it looks best in dining rooms and master bedrooms.

Of course, I think it's a total pain to do anything with the ceiling because it is uncomfortable.

Princess Bride! I love you.

And yes yes yes to moulding on the ceiling. I agree with Sherron, go big or go home (stay home? to mould? to blathe?) I love all of the possibilties except for the last (#5?) I think the last one looks a bit 80's. I'm sure the rest of the room is lovely though. And quite up-to-date. Actually, I'm not but I hate to be mean. Thumbs up on the paint color? I'll stop now.

That second to last picture makes me want to break out into song and dance - I think when done right it's amazing. I've never actually really been Ina casino for any considerable amount of time so I can't comment on what casino ceilings look like. Gambling stresses me out too much.

Love this!! How did you originally do your gallery shelves? Did you make them? How?? So not a DIY'er, but would really like to try. :)
