Psssst Kim @ Starshine Chic, you won the Ramsign Giveaway! Contact me now would ya, puddin' pop?
I love flippin' through design mags.

Better Homes & Gardens, This Old House, Architectural Digest-- whatevs.
And ya know? I go through a range of emotions.
Excitement. Jealousy. Desire. And then . . .
disappointment.
Yeah. You heard me.
'Cause after every.single.thing. is perfectly decorated and the designer has been paid their bajillion dollars to make those fabulously huge and expensive homes all decked out,
what's even left? WHAT NOW?
"Does she have a point here?"
I have a point.
The point: there is major satisfaction in the DIY project.
There is absolute fulfillment in the constant tweak of your own place.
And when my perfectionism occasionally rears its ugly head, and I want a fabulous space that is perfectly finished nownownow!, I remind myself:
How boring will it be when my ideas are all gone?
Isn't sometimes the very funnest part. . . the dream?
Even if it's stuff you can't possibly have room for? Or the cajones to pull off?
So here's to little, real people houses. Here's to CA-RAZY ideas and dweams.
Like hanging benches.

Or little boys' bed nooks.

Or planking ceilings. Or nailing in pocket doors. Or filling the gay-rage full of lumber. Or painting your plywood floor black. Whatever blows your skirt up.
Yes. I will always have a list (or two or three) of ideas in my terrible scrawl.

Always. And that's how I like it. And I'll take the non-mansion, the non-professionally designed, the craptastic project by moi, imperfect, house.
Wish me luck, 'cause I'm embarking on some new, CA-RAZY, ideas.
