That's IT. I broke a nail.

Actually, I think I broke all my nails on this project--

but I'm happy, nay, completely, utterly, overjoyed to report,

that construction is complete.

Painting? Touch ups? Spackle? Caulking? This and that's? No-ho.

There's endless a that. I'm also happy to report that besides some bloody knuckles and konked heads, that injuries were kept to a minimum. Post-drilled/shot hand, that is.

But my lil man is super excited to take over his little space. Got er done just in time for his birthday. That was a freakin' lot of work for a birthday present, dang it.

And am I disappointed, comparing this with my original inspiration?

You know it. Heck to the yeah. But,

I tried, man. And why did I think I was competent enough to take on such a project?

Please-- next time? If you're a real friend, you'll stop me. You'll tell me, "No, Mandi-- don't do it. Think this through! REMEMBER THE WINDOW BED!!"

Consider this my official retirement from ginormous projects.

Until I find something totally pants-on-fire awesome, that is.

Now comes the fun part: the decorating.

I am always amazed at the projects you take on and the awesome results you achieve. I hope that some day when I have a house of my own that I can make it look half as cool as yours! Thanks for all the inspiration (and the laughs, because your posts always brighten my day!)

Oh wow. I like yours better than your inspiration. Really I do. Now I have 2 rooms I want to live in at your house. The basement and your new window bed bedroom. Hmmm is that how you say that? You are making me feel soooo lazy. I haven't been inspired to do anything even little in a long time and look at all you do and with power tools. You are awesome.

Yay!! (insert standing ovation here)

I like yours way better than the inspiration, and as a former kid who always wanted one of these beds, you're awesome. I wouldn't even know where to begin to start that! and I'm glad you're still alive ;)
