Time to Strap On a Set and Man Up.

Couple things I'd like you to know today:

I haven't had a shower in 48 hours.

But that was not one of them. Sorry.

Last weekend, I took my first table saw lessons.

And I was sceered. Someone hold me. The Daddy-o took time out of his busy shhh-edule to learn me how.

And I took it all very seriously. As evidenced by the full-facial visor.

And the earmuffs. And the toolbelt. And the gloves. But not the laugh.

Now, I know what you're thinking:

what a total pansy.

I know, I know. But see, I know to keep my fingers away. This is not what I'm concerned about. I'm concerned about how not to have the saw throw a piece of wood at me. Or bind up. Those kinds of things.

Anywho,

I'd like to show you a little sumthin'.

It's called. . . "the shaper".

Get yourself some regular ole wood, and run it through this bad boy.
Check it out:

Bam.

Wa-bam.

Shwam. Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?

I think so Brain, but do I really need two tongues?

Think of the possibilities with all this cheap, awesome, homemade molding. Huh? Huh?

And finally, last but not least,

I'll be competing on Crafting with the Stars, Season Deux, and paired with the oh-so-lovely

Cheri

of I Am Momma Hear Me Roar.
Don't you love her? I just love her.

So it's craptin' time! Let's get our crapt on!
Will I win? HECK NO! But it will be fun, that's fo sho.

Holy cows!! Where to start? I wish I looked like you after two days of non-showering. Also, that wood cutty thingy is so cool. Did you feel all righteous and super cool doing it? I think you should have stuffed cotton balls in your nostrils, cuz, well, you just never know.

Good for you! Learning the table saw is definitely a plus! How about a band saw? That is my fav tool in the world. Just got to make sure you don't cut your hand off...that's all! Ha! Love the molding tools! So cool! Oops...I mean shapers! Ha!
Have fun on your "crapt" competition.

I have felt the pain of wood kicking back. It ain't purrty. One more thing you should be careful of when using all of your wood working tools is that pretty hair of yours. You would not be the first person to be scalped by a piece of machinery....just sayin. Can't wait to see what you make with your new skills!

Frankly, I will worry about the world's tree supply if you learn how to make your own molding.

But I'm still gonna watch every damn second.

With popcorn.

Cause this is gonna be goooooooood....

I didn't know you could make molding with a table saw. That is cool.

Cute coat by the way! Ü

Again, I am so jealous of that machine. My antique is just not the same. Love those molding makers, didn't know you could do that. Awesome!
Can't wait to see what creations come from your new toy.

Oh my gosh, I've never heard of a shaper...it's flippin awesome! Is it like an attachment that goes on the table saw??

Also, you look hot in those pictures. And I'm not being sarcastic, gorgeous!

I was wondering about the shaping thingys for the table saw, is it like a router? I can't figure out how the bits (?) fit the table saw. I agree, please watch your beautiful hair...and not while it is twirling around the saw blade.

Looking forward to seeing your custom moldings.

Just found you through I am Momma, Hear Me Roar....and am so glad I did! Your stuff is so awesome! Way outta my league, but I can't wait to see what else you're gonna come up with! I'm your newest follower :) AND your sense of humor is fantastic. I cracked up reading several of your posts. Congrats on your newly found table saw skills and on Crafting with the Stars...you could totally win.

I just spent the last, uh, two hours reading your blog. My eyes hurt and the work I promised my husband I'd-get-done-tonight-so-I-wouldn't-complain-about-it-all-weekend is still totally not even close to being done. So thanks for that. Also, I am completley inspired that you managed to get yourself a girl as your fourth kid, and especially a redhead. My husband has red hair and, presumably, X chromosomes to share, but so far he has been stingy with both. Perhaps if I got my work done and read less blogs he would be more accomidating? Good luck with CWTS.

What? Crafting with the Stars? Do tell more! Hopefully I get my spot back in Relief Society today so I can hear all the details. If not, you'll be gettin' a little phone call from me later. Love ya.

OOOOOHHHHH! I'm geekin' out over the combo of you and Cheri! You guys are gonna rock! I'm so jealous!

you are too cute in your visor and converse! hee hee...love it!

p.s. just reading your blog, with all its heavy-metal, power-tool gadgetry, is making me realize i need a man who can just do all this stuff for me, and STAT. because i will NEVER learn it all. and there are way too many sharp, quickly moving blades involved for me to attempt...

Sarah @ Modern Country Style said...

I want one of those machines. How cool would that be?

I could attach moulding everywhere that it *could* be attached...yeah, I'm liking that thought!
