Uprising.

4.6.

That's the average of posts I post per week, last time I checked. I don't like to check anymore; hurts the feel bads to see my subscriber stats go up and down. . . up and down. . . (mostly it's the down part.)

Like the 10 or so other posts of Mommy's I've read in the past two weeks, I'm thinking I need to let go of the internet for a while, and focus more on my kids.

See, they don't even try anymore to get me off the computer. They know I'll say "just a second." Ev.ery.time.

So, I'm unplugging.

(hehehe sorry, watched this movie with the hubs last night-- it was the first thing that came to my mind)

Spent 90% less time on my comp this week, and already my kids are reacting better, I'm happier, they're happier. . .

we're all shiny happy people holding hands 'round here.

Don't get me wrong-- I'm planning on taking that average of 4.6, and take it to, oh, a 2.0 or so. Still a respectable blogger level, no?

Sorry interweb. It's not you, it's me.

I know exactly what you are saying.......well you know that since we've talked about it 100 times. I'll miss all of your new posts though. Oh well! I get to see you in less than a week so who cares?!?!?!

Well I 've missed you but I understand! I am on the computer every second because of this dam cast and no kids! Stay in touch with me!

I think this is a good idea. I will miss seeing all of your posts, of coarse. But I get it and I am trying to do the same thing.

I know exactly what you are talking about. We came home from my birthday dinner Wednesday and while Grace was getting ready for bed I was checking blogs. She told me she was done brushing her teeth, I said I'll be up in a sec (I think but I'm not actually sure I responded at all- that's how bad it has gotten in this house) and when I went up to GO TO BED hours later her light was still on and she was sound asleep. I felt horrible. I almost cried. I knew it was getting bad but I didn't know it was THAT bad. She didn't even come to the top of the stairs to try and coax me up. She just gave up on me coming up. Not a good feeling at all. I'm with you. I'm going to try and finish all the thigns I said I would do before summer vacation officially starts for her and stay off the computer for awhile.
I have to say I will miss your blogging every day. HOWEVER, don't let that talk you back into blogging just so the masses can be entertained. We can cope for a while! ;-)

You should absolutely focus on the kiddos....I read all of your posts, so see, this will enable me to spend more time with my kids too!:-)

You're awesome. I'll always be a faithful follower.

I hear ya! Since summer began, my "free time" has been reduced considerably. When my boys started making remarks like, "She's ALWAYS on the computer!" I figured I'd better start putting more effort into activities I could do with them, and less thought and effort into blog posts and blog surfing. And like you, things are going much better around here. I
m happier. I still allow myself my computer time here and there... but just when they're out with friends, or sleeping, etc.

i know the feeling. i unplug or at elast spend less time on the pc and things are more in order too. good for you. nothing like time away to refresh.

Ya, after spending two weeks away with hardly any access to internet and no time to do so anyways, it feels wasteful to sit each night in front of the computer:) Plus I'm in packing mode not decorating and creative mode so don't have much fun stuff to blog on...I mean really who wants to hear about how I'm packing, haha:) Enjoy the time with your kids..pretty soon they'll have their own:)

I was wondering where you've been my friend. Hope you're having fun with the kiddos....

I have been feeling the same way. I started to wonder why am I doing this. I found myself spending more money so I could show the bloggers something. Why? I thought it was my creative outlet. I'm not sure. I took a break and found I didn't stress about what to put on the blog anymore. I decided to just post when I do something and not try to find something to do so I can post. Know what I mean? Anyway, it is harder when the kids are all home. Needy little things aren't they? I do enjoy checking in and seeing what you are up to so don't expect that I'm going away. I'll be around.

I understand too! I've sort of trained myself to do only 1-2 posts per week. I usually do one on the weekend and one about mid-week. That's pretty much it. I usually check my blog comments for a few minutes when I get home from work, right before bed or first thing in the morning. The rest of the time/week, I'm off of the computer. I'll be perfectly happy with one fun post a week from you. Your kids can have you the rest of the time and it's perfectly okay.

Danielle @ "We Don't Have It All Together" said...

Wow, you hit that right on the head! And everyone's comments sound just like me & my home :( I'm not on all the time 'posting' (even though I post every single day) - because I write them up late at night & schedule them to post on the proper day. BUT I do read all of the blogs which takes up a TON of time.
@ Carisa - the same thing happens to me alllll the time! My kids will say goodnight & ask me to come pray with them. I say, "I'll be right there"... and then hours later when I am going to bed, I realize I forgot to go into their rooms.
*sigh*

I will miss your post. I totally understand though. There just isn't enough time in the day to do all we need to do. So good
for you!=)

What?!?! I just get on board and you're taking a break! Is it me?!? Actually, I think I'll be having a hard time keeping up this summer. My kids hate when I blog too often. It's going to be a balancing act. I think I'll shoot for writing when they are asleep. Good luck with the blog cuts!

Well, that's the benefit of loyal readers. We're going to be here reading and loving your stuff however much (or little) it feels right for you to write.

K?

Good. :)

Well, I'm bummed that you will be dialing back your posts...BUT I'm glad that you will be happier spending time with your family. :)

Besides, I'm sure working my way through your archives will take me at LEAST a few months!

I am right there with you! I just can't bring myself to be at the computer much right now...even my email is being neglected! At least if we're not the only ones, there will be fewer posts to read and fewer readers to read ours!
