It's a swear.

"Bored" is. Soooo sick of that word.

Oh, and . ..

"Our house isn't fun."

That really gets me. How? 'Cause we only have 400 games instead of 500? 100 toys instead of 200?

So I took this idea my sis told me about and tweaked it a tad.

The "Bored?" jar.

Tell me you're bored? Go pick a slip of paper.

You might get lucky,

you might get totally screwed.

I'd say 70% is the good (good for me, hehehe) stuff:
-do the dishes
-fold the laundry
-vacuum
-sweep and mop

and the boys #1 most dreaded:
-change the baby's diaper

You might pull out a good one:
-go to the park
-make cookies

and so forth. It's a roll of the dice, boys.

I think my girls might actually find things to do on their own, and make no more mention of their boredom with just the jar sitting there.
Great idea!!
I think I'll make one for myself with "Eat Chocolate" on each slip of paper.
Blessings to you as you make your home!

You'll have to tell me how it works. My friend Carrie loves it and her kids are older too. I'd like to read all of yours though because you think up funny things.

What a fabulous idea! I might be stealing too. I hate "I'm bored." I always say, "No, you're just boring."

Brilliant!
Your papers would be fun to read. There's always the chance someone could end up in a tutu. ;)

Dude, I do this to! I have a huge list of things to do. (most of them fun). I will have to give you a copy (if I can find it).

What an awesome idea, I bet they are coming up with their own solutions, instead of the dreaded jar!

Himself and I are both sitting here saying, "That's so clever!" which is secret parent code for, 'DAMN! Why didn't we think of that!'

And you have four kids not three, we should be ahead in the brain cell count.

This is PURE GENIUS! I remember complaining to my mom about being bored as a kid and she would always look shocked and ask how I could be bored with so much to do in the house.

I was just thinking about this the other day - even though I don't live with a family I spend all day cleaning, organizing, cooking and baking. There just isn't time to be bored LOL
